Our story began with Jim Danzl, CCIM, a seasoned real estate professional who has been helping clients buy and sell properties since 1979. Recently, Jim made an exciting move, leaving Re/Max of Boulder to establish his own brokerage — JD Real Estate.

Meet Jim Danzl, CCIM - Founder and Broker

Jim Danzl was born and raised in a small town in Minnesota, where he developed a strong work ethic early in life. His career journey began as a boiler-maker, where he quickly rose to a leadership position, supervising hundreds of workers and becoming a mentor to many. In the late 1970s, Jim ventured into real estate, combining his tenacity, passion for helping people, and a deep understanding of the market to build a successful career.

Over the decades, Jim has become known for his ability to seamlessly guide clients through complex real estate transactions. His extensive knowledge spans both commercial and residential real estate, and his strong network means he "always knows a guy" for any need that may arise. Most of all, Jim knows how to treat people right.  Don’t be surprised if he shows up on your doorstep with a home cooked meal, or a fun hand-written note about historical heroes around the world.  He’s just that kind of guy.

Jim’s interests go beyond real estate. He’s a talented woodworker and craftsman, a die-hard Colorado sports fan (Go Nuggets!), and is known for his signature style, often sporting stylish cowboy hats. He’s even started a headgear trend around town. When you work with Jim, you’re not just a client — you’re part of his circle of friends.

Casey Sherman - Assistant and Future Agent

Casey Sherman is an integral part of the JD Real Estate team, supporting Jim both in the office and out in the community. With a passion for fitness, family (including her two Great Danes, PaloSanto and Peace), and entrepreneurship, Casey brings energy and dedication to everything she does. In addition to her role at JD Real Estate, Casey co-owns a successful gift card exchange business with her mother in the Denver Metro area. As she works toward obtaining her real estate license, Casey is your go-to person for getting things done efficiently.

Sarah Ray - Affiliate Agent and Key Contributor

Though now representing herself as an agent with Re/Max, Sarah Ray remains a vital part of JD Real Estate's success. As Jim's daughter, Sarah has worked alongside him for years, gaining invaluable experience. She is a proud mother of three, a fitness enthusiast who loves lifting weights, and an exceptional real estate agent known for her attention to detail, intuition, and unwavering commitment to her clients.

Our Furry Team Members

• Cocoa: The long-haired dachshund who loves car rides and tennis balls. We recommend keeping yours stowed away when he’s around, or it might disappear. You’ll often spot him hanging his head out of Jim’s window.

• G-Waggin’: Our newest team member, a spirited German Shorthaired Pointer who oversees the home office with boundless energy. Can you guess which one of Jim’s vehicles is his favorite? He’s always ready for a friendly pat.
